Katz's carving boards are crafted directly from the wood previously installed on our deli countertops, where pastrami & corned beef is still hand-carved to order. As a testament to their history, each board includes all the original fork divots & knife slices accrued over the course of thousands of sandwiches.
Each carving board is made of 100% maple and features an edge-grain butcher block cut for maximum durability. Each board measures approximately 14" by 10" by 1.5", weighs over 5 lbs, and includes Katz's storefront logo laser-engraved in the bottom right corner.
The carving boards are available in limited quantities and can be treated as a decorative keepsake or as a fully functional carving board, if condition warrants (some boards will be heavily worn). If used, they should be hand-washed and occasionally oiled to prevent cracks. They are not dishwasher safe.
